Biography

So you want to know all about Moonwolf, huh? You must be a glutton for punishment :)

“Moonwolf”??

“Moonwolf” is the the online identify I’m most known by. This name was given to me when I was a child, for reasons including an uncanny affinity with wolves, a closeness that endures to this day. Visitors to Patrick’s Household find images and figurines of wolves in the most unlikely of places. The name has been emulated by many across the world, but at the end of the day there’s really only one Moonwolf like me :)

I hope I’ve carried my name(s) well, and Moonwolf became the basis behind the name for Patrick’s company, MWE - Moonwolf Enterprises.

I’m sometimes an author, sometimes a roleplaying game designer, very frequently someone who beta tests things computer-related (reads, breaks them frequently, but is kind enough to send long emails to the people that made them explaining what I did), very frequently a systems administrator, a frequent MUD-administrator, unfortunately often a web designer, now and again a coder, and I’ve developed wide-ranging skills in 3D artwork.

All requests for my age are answered with the default “as old as my eyes and a little older than my teeth” response, but it’s generally accepted that I was born in Eire (Republic of Ireland) sometime during the latter half of the twentieth century. I’ve been able to make much capital out of my place of birth, Coombe Hospital, being known as “Dolphin’s Barn”, since it means that I can leave doors wide open, and when asked if I was born in a barn, can answer quite honestly “Yes.” People who have been exposed to me for longer than five minutes soon discover that such answers to questions are only to be expected.

I have Relapsing/Remitting Multiple Sclerosis, which I proudly announce for the record I will be the first person to ever beat. I approach my situation with the same sick, warped, twisted, strange, odd, and downright weird sense of humour I have in everything, and am actively involved in helping people try to find their own ways to deal with disabilities and illnesses. I have two wheelchairs, both in purple - a manual chair for use in the house, and my “Tank”, which I’ve yet to discover the slower speed settings on!

I’ve lived in the United States of America for over a decade with Patrick, along with four cats, a dog, and Tainee, our live-in Personal Care Attendant. I change my hair colour at least once a year, so it’s pointless to list that, but it’s a safe bet that I’ll be wearing black or purple if you meet me :)

“Miika”??

Miika is the name Patrick gave me. In Anishnabek, an American Indian language, it is pronounced “My-ekha”, which translates roughly to “Beauty”.
